PEER-LED FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT
What is Money Basics?
Money Basics is a peer-led and person-directed financial empowerment course
Money Basics is a peer-led, person-directed, and strengths-based financial literacy program designed specifically for peers (i.e. individuals with lived experience of mental health and/or addiction challenges and recovery). These workshops are fun, empowering, and cover a number of financial issues that are commonly experienced by peers.
Key topics include: budgeting, banking, taxes, paying off debt, resources to save money, and navigating the relationship between mental health and/or addiction challenges and money.
Money Basics is a program of The Mental Health & Addiction Association of Oregon (MHAAO). MHAAO is an inclusive peer-run organization dedicated to self-direction honoring the voice of lived experience.
